Leading independent maintenance specialist Integral has won the contract to provide services to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Drawing on its extensive experience working in partnership with healthcare clients throughout the UK Integral will provide mechanical and electrical maintenance services to the hospital’s new endoscopy department. It will also be involved in upgrading the hospital’s Sterile Services Department, which will be temporarily transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. As part of the project all existing ventilation plant is being removed and replaced. Specialist equipment, such as autoclaves and washer disinfectors are being provided by the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust. Galliford Try Partnerships North is the project’s main contractor. Paul Dolan, Integral’s Regional Director for the North East, said the company would have 12 operatives employed on both projects covering all disciplines, adding: “We are delighted to be working with both the NHS Trust and Galliford on this project. “Integral has built a solid reputation for the excellence in its delivery of healthcare projects, and this contract with the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust will cement that status.” Bryan Glastonbury, Integral’s Managing Director, said: “As the UK looks to be finally emerging from recession Integral is ideally-placed to ride that upturn and continue with our strong growth programme. “However the public sector is entering its own recession now and will be making sweeping spending cuts in order to balance the books. That means organisations such as NHS Trusts will be desperate to make every penny count and Integral, with its ethos of delivering value for money services without compromising quality, is the natural choice to fulfill those requirements.” ENDS 26th January 2010 All Integral press releases and aimges can be downloaded from the website www.sturgessvandamme.co.uk << Back
