Mobile Electrical Operative

Brief Details of Position

This role is to operate within the maintenance department working on the

NHS Property Services contract as a Mobile Electrical Engineer carrying out planned/reactive works.

The successful candidate will have allocated hospital sites, which they will be expected to make first attendance across a variety of disciplines.

Main Duties include:

To be responsible for the reactive and planned maintenance of hospital associated M&E plant and basic building fabric work. To include, but not limited to: minor electrical works, electrical testing, fault finding, basic plumbing and carpentry works.

  • Replacement Pumps & Inverters
  • Fault Finding – Electrical & BMS
  • Installation Of New Circuits & Equipment
  • EICR Remedial Works
  • Minor Building Fabric Repairs
  • Weekly Fire Alarm Testing
  • Weekly Tap Flushing
  • Lamp Changing
  • AHU Cleaning & Servicing
  • Basic Plumbing Repairs
  • Unblocking toilets and drains
Responsibilities include:
  • Completion of a weekly timesheet and submit in accordance to the departments procedures
  • Provide out of hours call out facility on a rota system
  • Provide detailed and accurate reports for any remedial works required whilst attending site
  • Updating of on-site log books for compliance purposes
  • Supervision of sub-contractors whilst on site
  • Comply with company QA and Departmental procedures
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of emergency contingency plans to enable the hospitals to function
  • Ensure accurate records appertaining to all planned preventative maintenance and the emergency repairs completed
  • Oversee all site activities, both maintenance and project specific and ensure all safety aspects are managed and monitored in accordance with site procedures and requirements
  • Complete field operative Method Statements and risk assessments as necessary
  • Perform all duties in-line with current health and safety legislation and company policy with relevance to safe working practices and the storage of chemicals
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in Electrical Engineering to 17th Edition
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing
  • Recognised apprenticeship
  • Proven post apprenticeship practical experience
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing a high quality service to our customer
  • Willing to work flexibly and as a team member
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Additional preferred skills:
  • F-Gas or Air-conditioning knowledge
  • Knowledge of HTM Maintenance Procedures (Healthcare Premises)
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
